Orly Space Cadet

I have been lazy to change my nail colours recently so I have been wearing the ORLY Space Cadet from their Cosmic FX Collection for the past 3 days already.

This is such an awesome multi-chrome foil. It looks different in every angle and different lighting, so much so that I cannot be sure what the colour exactly is.

Sparkles, shimmers, duo chromes, glass flecks and foil finish, what is there not to love? This is such a chameleon, it never truly appears in one shade. Everytime I peer at my fingertips I spot a new flash of colour. Under room lights, I see obvious magenta shimmers and the mauve undertones take a back seat. In sunlight, the copper/green-gold flecks come out to play, taking the nail colour to a new dimension.

Application was good as with all Orly Cosmic FX polishes. This applies terribly sheer though so I took 3 coats to build up opacity. But this does not affect drying time at all. In fact, I am vastly pleased with the drying time of Space Cadet. No doubt, this will be hard to remove with all the glass flecks and shimmers but I tell you, it’s all worth it!

Swatch & Review: Orly Galaxy Girl + PA AA04

The nail on my index finger broke more than halfway down my nail bed, and being the absolute perfectionist I am, I decided to trim all my nails the furthest they could go without hurting.

I am so annoyed by how easily my nails split and peel and they hardly grow beyond 5mm from my nail bed. Sigh. What I managed to do now is to use a nail glue on my nail to hold the split together… While I patiently grow it out.

Decided to use a sparkly polish to help make myself feel better anyway!

Orly Galaxy Girl on her own:

This was 3 coats of Orly + 2 coats of PA. Both are a dream to apply, the PA flakies are a little harder to put on though as compared to the previous one which I had worn here. It looked really “galaxy-like” though and reminds me of the starry midnight sky

Orly Galaxy Girl on its own, is a lovely duochrome that flashes blue and brown depending on the lighting. The application is awesome but the first two coats can be pretty sheer.

NOTD (3 coats):

It’s a murky yellow-green in a jelly base jam packed with sparkles. Super pretty! Application was easy, went on without much trouble but first coat could be sheer. Actually 2 thick coats should have sufficed but I added on a third thick coat just to make it 100% opaque on the nails.

It looks different from different angles! Gorgeous.
