EOTD: Shiseido Silky Eye Shadow Quad Q12 Wood Tones

Decided to try out the Shiseido Silky Eye Shadow Quad that I had picked up from the Shiseido sales some time this month and also provide my thoughts on the palette:

Shiseido Silky Eye Shadow Quad Q12 Wood Tones

Swatches:

It consists of a dark chocolate brown with a myriad of green/gold glitters, a warm coppery brown, a dirty gold and a pale ivory gold highlight.

When worn:

My Thoughts:

I had high hopes for this palette because the colours swatched beautifully with the exception of the darkest chocolate brown shade which was a little gritty and not as pigmented as the rest. The textures of the shadows were soft and smooth even though they lack pigmentation. The soft feel of the shadows make it very easy to blend so using fingers work just as well in creating this look.

Despite these, I’m not too fond of this palette because these colours appear muddy and dirty when blended on the eyes. The darkest brown also looked too similar to the medium brown and wasn’t dark nor pigmented enough as a contouring/crease shade. There was also an immense amount of glitter fall out from all the shades, more so than any other palettes I’ve tried. Would I recommend this palette to anyone? Probably not because the colours are not exactly unique and very easily dupe-able and it takes too much effort to make this palette work. There are also many other better and cheaper palettes that are similar to this.
