FOTD: Dior Spring 2012 – Garden Roses

This FOTD is specially done for HS as she had requested for it when I posted the comparison for Dior Garden Roses vs. Purple Crystal.

Face: Diorskin Radiant Base 001, Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream #01 Fresh, Amazing Cosmetics Concealer – Light Golden, Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder 01, Guerlain Cruel Gardenia Météorites Pressed Powder on nose bridge and cheekbones

Eyes: Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette – Garden Roses, Bébé Poshé Dazzling Eye Pencil 01 Black Diamond, Milani Liquif’eye Eye Pencil in Brown, Maybelline Volum’ Express mascara on lower lashes

Cheeks: Shu Uemura Glow On M Pink 33E

This look is easily achieved just using fingers because the shades are so soft and blendable. I did not use any brushes at all for this look to keep things quick and simple. These colours are very pretty with just the right amount of shimmers and translucency and hence do not look OTT for daytime. In fact, the shimmers are rather subtle on the eyelids.

I hope you enjoy this look, and thank you for reading!

  1. swee za bor~ thk you!! love love the purple on u! at first when i swatched, it really does reminds me of purple crystal which i intend to skip n get their garden pastels. but after searching for reviews n EOTD, i decided garden roses will b better 😛

  2. Totally agree with July, you are a babe. Love your look, purples suit you.

  3. Hi Eileen
Do you use false eyelashes? If u do, they look so natural!! If you don’t, u have very very pretty lashes!!!
I always like your EOTD look, and how you blend in the colours.
I can’t seem to get the same effect as my lids get like ‘eaten up’ when I open my eyes, and the shadows that I apply won’t be visible:(

    • Hi Elaine,

I do use false lashes with most of the looks I had put up. In this particular one, I was using the taiwan Princess lashes in Princess 8 which are extremely natural and comfortable to wear. Thank you for your compliments! If you have hooded eyelids, it will help to apply the eyeshadows higher up to your eye socket just so the colours will remain visible even if you open your eyes. I hope this tip works for you, drop me a comment and let me know if that has been helpful 🙂

      • Thanks for the tip:)
I usually afraid that I’d apply too much such that it looks overdone. Haha I’ll need more practice. I’m still nt very skilled in the blending part esp when I try to use more colours. Hence I usu stick to one colour and nt applying too much.
Did you get the princess lashes in Taiwan? I google searched it and came across prettyandcute.com that sells it. Thought you might be interested. From some other blog reviews it looks really good and natural. I’ll like to get it and try! Thanks for the recommendation~!!

      • Don’t worry, with practice I’m sure it gets easier!

I got the Princess Lashes from girllashes.com 🙂 It is a local blogshop and I used to shop a lot from them 🙂

  4. You have a naturally beautiful eyes! 🙂
